Solar Project Manager

Our ideal Project Manager has strong residential/commercial PV solar knowledge and can put that experience to good use as they focus on successful PV solar installations and daily involvement in solar projects. In this role, the Project Manager will take ownership of a "book" of projects, managing them throughout the production lifecycle, from close-of-sale to Permission to Operate.

Key responsibilities:
- Manage our Solar Installation pipeline with oversight from our Senior Project Manager and Operations Director
- Ensure projects are completed on time, to specifications, and with accuracy and efficiency
- Coordinate and run pre-construction and in-progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders
- Forecast installation timelines and assist with overseeing project schedules
- Conduct all communication with general contractors, subcontractors, and project owners, with an emphasis on tactful/proactive communication and construction acumen
- Effectively manage the expectations of general contractors, subcontractors, and project owners;
- address issues in a knowledgeable, solution-oriented manner
- Act as a liaison with external vendors, employing strong subcontractor relationships and negotiation skills
- Clearly articulate and document project scopes and specs, ensuring that scopes for install crews are up-to-date and clear-cut
- Field job site issues, collaborating with our superintendents to present timely solutions to general contractors and project owners
- Communicate with sales consultants, superintendents, foremen, and other internal team members
- Document project specifics and track updates in our CRM tool
- Review contracts and issue contract addendums; maintain all change orders, permit submittals, and plan set documents
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of solar construction experience required
- Knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction preferred; background in architecture or engineering also applicable
- Well-versed in construction terminology and concepts
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build rapport with a variety of tradespeople
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, PV plan sets, or similar
- Understanding of permitting processes; experience with local and state jurisdictions preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, taking full ownership of assigned projects and deliverables
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to accept constructive feedback
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
